Africities. The City Hall of Nanterre ( France ) will carry out a workshop to present the FAL-Outskirts ( Getafe 2010 , Spain ) and to prepare the 9 th FAL Assembly, Heading to Dakar 2011.

The 5th Edition of the Pan-African Local Government Days, “AFRICITiES”, will be held in Marrakech, Kingdom of Morocco, from 16 to 20 December 2009, under the High Patronage of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco. 

The Central theme of the Marrakech Africities Summit is: “African Regional and Local Governments' Response to the Global crisis: promotion sustainable local development and employment.”

The news of the current global financial crisis brings to the fore the need to conduct a renewed reflection on the operation of the world economy and on the development strategies. The idea that no region, no country and no community would succeed in overcoming alone this crisis is gaining momentum. It is important in this respect to integrate into the consultation efforts aiming at resolving the crisis, a greater number of countries and decision makers, and not only the leaders of the G8 member-countries
