The second technical meeting for the elaboration of the 2nd FAL – O draft was held.

The Promotion Commission aims at creating a participative global programme to be closed on January 2010.

Up to now, 60 Spanish cities and 55 from all over the world have answered to the NETWORK's appeal. Sara Hernández, deputy mayor of Getafe insisted: “although we want this event to focus on the outskirts, we do not want the representation to be given to outskirts exclusively as all kinds of cities must have a representation".

The meeting laid the foundations for the joint creation of the FAL – O 2010 Programme (programme to be debated), in which all the European and Latin American parts will be represented by the local authorities invited to participate. 14 round tables with a total of 60 participants including local authorities, researchers and social movements are scheduled.

Furthermore, the aim of including the 2nd FAL – O Getafe in the framework of activities scheduled in the calendar of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, from January 2010, was made public. Antonio Aniesa, coordinator of the FAL – O stressed the fact that “we are in the position to organise a really important event in the field of world municipalism”.
