Rodrigo de Oliveira Perpétuo, Municipal Sub-Secretary of International Affairs

The current mayor of Belo Horizonte, the entrepreneur Marcio Araujo de Lacerda, was elected on October 26, 2008. Bachelor of business administration from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Lacerda used to be in charge of the State Department of Economic Development of Minas Gerais. Ahead of the Municipality of Belo Horizonte, Lacerda has been conducting an administration based on the so-called "BH Goals and Results", strategic management model with a constant evaluation of the results of the public policies in progress.
The insertion of the city of Belo Horizonte in the international community is the direct responsibility of the Municipal Sub-Secretariat of International Affairs. Therefore, it is up to the Sub-Secretary Rodrigo Perpétuo and his staff to make sure that the Municipality of Belo Horizonte remains a center of major international events. In addition, it is also this Sub-Secreteariat job to undertake actions that may contribute to the economic and social development, including with regard to the dissemination of issues related to Human Rights, Citizenship, Equality, Peace, Social Inclusion, to name just a few of the millennium goals posed by the UN.
